Forgive or Forget - The Dilemma

Forgive and Forget are two different words but they are usually always used together.  You may not have realised but these two words are always used one after the other. Whenever you make a mistake, Arrey maaf kar de yaar (Please forgive me) Chal na, ab bhul jaa sab kuch (Now please forget everything) See, I proved my point there already! There is an old saying - Forgive and Forget! But are you sure you always pertain to it? Well in retrospect I as an individual believe in this concept but it’s quite difficult to follow it ahead somehow.  If there is even one memory that can remind me of an incident that hurt me, that makes it difficult to forget. We do forgive the person related to it, but there is always that memory we cling on too.  Do you know the reason behind this? It is because we are told to learn from our mistakes and not repeat them again. We need to cling on to the memory of that one mistake so that we do not repeat it all over again. Our brain is so complex, y...

Missing the yearly ritual

The anticipated yearly ritual came to a halt this year 😔  The pandemic has been such a turn of events for every person. No one must have anticipated how the year 2020 would take a drastic 360-degree turn but as they say, whatever is supposed to happen will happen. Change is inevitable and we all need to adapt to those changes, even if we do not agree. My mother is Christian by faith, it was a yearly ritual for us to visit The Mount Mary Church in Bandra every 15 th  August. The church is so beautiful and peaceful. This day every year, we would wake up early morning to reach Bandra, hear the mass, be grateful for all that we have, and offer our wishes. I would not go home without taking a seat at Bandra Bandstand. It was the only time where we could enjoy the calm at Bandra as weekdays would not be apt for us. Nonetheless, if time permitted we would even roam around Bandra (for some shopping of course), that could not be missed at any cost. One thing that I realised was ...

How the tables have turned

Since this onset of the pandemic, the situations around have started to take a turn for the bad. Corona Virus also called COVID - 19 widespread globally made it's way to India in March. The situation for every person has changed drastically. The frontline fighters like our doctors, nurses, medical institutions all went into overdrive mode. These frontline fighters have been fighting this virus since its inception, keeping their duty above all. The numbers have spiked out of control in India, reading those numbers daily gives such a shock. From being just 5K cases it is now up to 32K active cases throughout India. Some people are still adamant this virus won't harm them, but do you know anything about the virus? The information we have is what we read over the internet, but by far how much does anyone know about the virus? There were so many uncertainties - lockdown situation, rules regarding them, and travel being suspended being a few. So many people across India have l...

Happiness Program 2020 During Quarantine

I have been part of an Online Happiness Program 2020 during this quarantine recommended by a friend. When the course was about to kick off, I actually was not sure if I could have actually gone through with it. I have done yoga a few years back but I really wanted to give another chance to bring down all the negativity and stress that comes with this unprecedented quarantine. The course may be virtual, but it does affect anyone who does take this course. Some of the takebacks from the program that I have received: Breathing techniques to calm and relax the mind Focus my energy towards the positive side of life Secret keys to better myself Getting deep sleep Boosting the immune system I am really thankful to get this opportunity to be a part of this program. To know more about this course, you can follow Gurudev Sri Sri Ravi Shankar and The Art of Living on all social media platforms.

Mental Health - Not a Taboo

Image created by Panda Design Lab Overthinking | Anxiety | Depression These three words are dealt like a demon in this society. No one ever talks about it, but at some stage of your life, everyone has faced. It is human nature to ponder over a situation that didn't go as planned, over some kind of conversation that lingers in the head or it's just the void in your heart, you don't know the existence of. Some people are able to handle situations way better than the others, but those who don't; slip into depression and have anxiety and have no one to talk to. This post is a realisation that everyone fights a silent battle daily, be it any gender but whatever it may be, always try and share it with someone - be it your parents, your best friend or any person you are comfortable one. You don't need to fight all your battles alone.

Morning Thoughts Amid Lockdown

I have woken up early at such a wee time of the day after about a month. I have never felt so refreshed and energised, that's when I decided to jot down my thoughts in this post, so do read it till the end. One of the pros of having this quarantine, it has made me aware of the beauty that's around. The roads that were bustling throughout the day have become silent, also less dust and pollution. All that has made way for trees flourishing, more birds chirping, I could even see more sparrows which had become quite rare around Tardeo. There's always two sides of the same coin, it's all about your perception. It is either you just like to sit and crib about every situation or try to look at the positive side of it and enjoy the present. Check the Instagram post here .

Go Green!

Recently, I fulfilled one more point off my Bucket List - Planted some home green plants. My window garden Global warming is increasing at an alarming rate and the rising swelter is getting a little unbearable as every day passes by. My 2018 resolution was to add more plants to my bedroom window. The pots consist of: A. Rose plant - that requires daily watering and fertilizer. B. An indoor plant. C. Money Plant. D. Hibiscus Flower. Why do I stress on the point of a plant nursery ? 1. Having plants around means more fresh oxygen. 2. You are connected with nature right from your home window. 3. You take a step towards saving the Earth and reducing the effects of climate change. 4. Having some greenery around also adds color to the interiors. You can also take steps towards sustainability: 1. Plant at least one flower pot in your house. You can also have an indoor plant or succulent that do not require watering on a daily basis. 2. Try t...

Aloe Vera to the RESCUE!!!

Aloe Vera How to get your skin naturally glowing pimple-free? Apply aloe vera.  It is the most natural moisturizer you can find. It is easy to grow in your homes as well.  What you need is  Aloe vera gel, fresh from the plant. Cut one leaf and cut out any thorns on them. Apply directly to the skin. It dries off easily and is light-weight on the skin. Keep it for like half an hour (or more as per your requirement) and remove with just water.  After this procedure, you will feel your skin refreshed and glowing. You can even apply aloe vera gel to your hair. It is best to provide softness and moisturization. For this, you can cut a few leaves, take out the pulp and grind it in the grinder. Then boil the gel with oil and store. You can use it for a longer time. If you do have tips regarding any natural home-made beauty tips, then please go forward and share.

Leo The Labby

Leo is one cute Labrador, really loving, naughty and close to my heart. Why I say this? I always wanted a dog, but due to a few reasons, I cannot keep a dog. Leo is my brother's dog who has got this sweet little bundle of the joy. Main reasons I love this dog: 1. He is a real stress-buster. 2. Dogs require utmost care. The love and care you give them, they reciprocate more love and care back. 3. Dogs are cute and great huggers. 4. He is so lovable and has a great deal of excitement. Leo is so friendly that he will be friends with you in an instant. 5. His puppy eyes melt my heart. 6. Leo is greatly famous for all the kids in his area. 7. Leo loves to play and has a sweet tooth for ice-creams. But always remember not to hurt any animal. They are living beings but are not able to express their feelings. Love them unconditionally and they will give you more love in return. They will be your loyal companions, always by your side and will never leave you even when y...
