Ladies be more careful while travelling!

Safety First Women need to be careful while traveling in trains or at stations with a lot of crowds. I read an article in TOI regarding a woman being injected with a drug that would numb her arm and the offender can steal her bag. I was shocked to my core to read that a lady, a woman or even a girl is not safe at any point in their life. It is so disgusting and disturbing as well. This woman felt her hand go numb while she was traveling back home. She actually could not feel her arm for many days. Then she also felt pain in her left shoulder. This is disturbing because the offenders are using other ways to steal that may lead to more disastrous damage to any other woman or human. So this post is to let all the Women in Mumbai to know this and be careful with themselves and their belongings. The offenders need to understand that someday it could be their sister, daughter or mother. Would they want any female in their house to suffer like this? You can also u

Time-Pass PK

Dedicating a blog to another fun employee at my office. So PK is the technical guy coming all the way from Dombivli to Mahalaxmi. God knows how he travels. Being from a Maharashtrian family, he is teaching me new Marathi words and in turn I correct his English. Our normal day includes irritating each other and my favorite tagging him in memes. Other things we do: 1. Search designs for his sherwani ( not for his marriage though) 2. Hair cuts that would suit him 3. Removing errors in people's work we don't LIKE 4. Share samosa ( I have the crust and he eats whatever is left) 5. Monday and Tuesday he does not eat because he hates VEGETERIAN food 6. Irritating me throughout the day 7. His continuous singing (which can get irritating) Favorite singers: Vidya Vox, Shirley Sethia Favorite color: Red Favorite line: Why this Kolaveri Di?

Cheers to a great weekend

O2 Villas So the weekend of 14 th and 15 th of October, my friends and I went to O2 Villa in Igatpuri. So this is a beautiful place with a great scenic view. For those who love nature and want to spend your weekend the right way, this is the spot. So this is in Igatpuri as mentioned above. You can take your car and have an enjoyable experience. Another alternative is to travel by train. You can take a fast train to Kasara either from CST or Kasara. It is almost an hour and a half drive and not very tiring. After you get down at Kasara you can hail a share a cab to O2 Villas. It is just a 20 minutes ride from Kasara station. This place is literally heaven. It has 2 big bedrooms and 1 small room. In addition, it has a private pool with an awesome view. It is a great place to enjoy. Hope that it rains to adore the scenic beauty all around. You get complimentary breakfast and can order for lunch and dinner from nearby restaurants.  Attaching images to leave you a

Struggles of being a SHORTY!

Boho chic Being a shorty sometimes can be a menace... When you are young and if you have a sibling, you are happy that you have height. But once you hit puberty and your height doesn't increase, there starts all the taunts and teasing. Even your younger sibling would have height.  I myself had a great height when young but now only 5 ft, being the shortest among family and friends. The only advantage is standing in front for all photos and selfies.  Some struggles that I can list is: 1. People telling you to increase your height 2. Needing a tall guy (your selfie stick) to click great selfies 3. Always needing to look up while talking 4. People using you for support or to lean on 5. Being called a child every time 6. Getting advice to wear heels 7. Tiptoeing 8. Never find the right size for clothes or shoes 9. People doubting the way you drive 10. Getting lost in the crowd Some great advantages: 1. Being called "cute" 2. Always ahead for phot

World Mental Health Day

What is Mental Health? Mental Health is a mixture of emotional, physiological and well being. It helps you distinguish between right and wrong. It affects how a person acts when stressed or when emotional. A person needs to maintain their mental health or it causes depression. Research indicates that almost one in every four people face mental health issues each year. One form is depression. This causes an individual to lose concentration, over think, judge themselves and be sad all the time. Everyone faces depression and mental health issues at some point in life. It can either be personal or professional as well. Not much can be said than done. People don’t accept their own depression nor do family or friends. In India alone, many people cannot handle their situation and resort to decide, which is wrong. Loneliness is a state where no one should be alone. Loneliness is a state where no one should be alone. Even in the workplace, a negative and gloomy environment can dec

Plight in Mumbai

A sad day today for all the Mumbaikars! The space crunch is getting even worse. People lost their lives due to improper or inadequate facilities provided. The Government really needs to buck up. The news of the Elphinstone Road station stampede has shocked everyone. Being the last day of Navratri, many people throng to the Mahalaxmi temple and as it’s a working day, it is always crowded. But the death of 22 people (as declared in the news) is sad. Mumbai is a city with the ever-changing climate. Sometimes it is hot and another second raining heavily. Mumbai has never been ready for the rains. A month back, heavy rains again crippled the city. Potholes everywhere and now “STAMPEDE” due to space crunch. Numerous people throng to the city of dreams every day. The population is rising, but basic amenities are not yet upgraded. AC or bullet trains will not solve any population issue. Right now what Mumbaikars need are better amenities like proper roads, flood management, bette

Having Employees as Friends

Talking about the company I am working in, most of the employees are superb!!! Not everyone is that lucky to be friends with your colleagues. Not every colleague in the office is going to be great but actually who cares?? Having even 1 good friend at the office is bliss and I have 4. (Fingers crossed!!!!!!) We sit together, have lunch together, sometimes come together but definitely go to the station together. This blog is to mainly highlight my Cool Manager… (More like a friend and guide) to all of us at work. Guide because he gives us tips and helps in the blog. Cool because he is really cool. So the reasons he is cool: Cracks a lot of jokes Funny Sends memes in office Samosa fanatic Chai lover Famous sayings “bohot buri baat hai” or “mujhe bohot bura lag raha hai” Always calling girls with “MS. (whatever the name) Some of his jokes are: Jio ka net nahi chal raha, upar pakadta hu Fake hahahas at mostly everything Reading an image you are scrolling and the

Cats are living things too

Momma cat with her kittens So, yesterday a family discussion made me realize that animals are not given same treatment as living beings. So my cousin takes care of stray cats at their home. Some of them have been fallen sick recently. The cat had a broken limb, wound, and maggots. In Mumbai, there is a hospital in Parel for animals. But they could not care for the cat there. There are many private hospitals for animals and pets around. They charge like a bomb for a visit but gets the work done. Certain doctors just charge for not even giving a satisfactory answer to the illness. It is sorry to hear that strays are not taken care of. They are also living things and have feelings. They need proper care as well. So, if there are NGOs in Mumbai, they really need to care for cats as well.

Finding the right job of your choice

So, it has been a long time since I have been able to take out time and blog. So today, it has been raining in Mumbai and the weather has persuaded me to write. So the topic I want to talk about is JOBS in Mumbai. Having faced it, I know how a fresher feels after graduating. Everyone says Mumbai is the “city of dreams” but finding a job is not easy. Even if you are a postgraduate and you are a fresher, you still remain jobless for months. I have had many people tell me that their friends are facing it (or faced it). Well, even my friends have. Even taking admission in a good and reputed college neither gets you a job nor the salary you expect. So, you need to follow the pointers that are there below. So, for all the graduates or postgraduates finding a job, these are some pointers that you can keep in your mind: Do your own SWOT analysis Figure out your career Try for placements in your own college Take experience before doing masters’ degree Start finding job at

VALKYRIES

Valkyries by Paulo Coelho  is a self-autobiography. In this story, the writer describes himself. He pens down all his flaws and shortcomings, about his marriage, personal life etc. and how everything turned around to be good again. Here, Paulo describes himself as a Satan worshipper and believer of magic. He could not be employed in a job for a long time. He used to swap jobs at a drop of a hat. His wife, Christina stuck with him throughout all these turbulence. His mentor J ( James Redfield) provided him with a task (through a poem) to find his guardian angel. Paulo, being a stern follower and student, set out to Mojave desert with his wife Christina. His marriage did not have any meaning. Paulo Coelho would hardly communicate with his wife. He would just like to be with himself. Paulo already knew that “he had the tendency to kill what he loves”. So, on this trip, he wanted to consult all his demons and reverse his self-destructive path. Valkyries are leather-clad women t
