A sad day today for all the Mumbaikars! The space crunch is getting even worse. People lost their lives due to improper or inadequate facilities provided. The Government really needs to buck up. The news of the Elphinstone Road station stampede has shocked everyone. Being the last day of Navratri, many people throng to the Mahalaxmi temple and as it’s a working day, it is always crowded. But the death of 22 people (as declared in the news) is sad. Mumbai is a city with the ever-changing climate. Sometimes it is hot and another second raining heavily. Mumbai has never been ready for the rains. A month back, heavy rains again crippled the city. Potholes everywhere and now “STAMPEDE” due to space crunch. Numerous people throng to the city of dreams every day. The population is rising, but basic amenities are not yet upgraded. AC or bullet trains will not solve any population issue.
